So who gets to vet the “racist ” complaints? Or will Yelp just accept some customers “racist complaint” at face value ? Some commenters on Yelp are what I call Professional Complainers, who complain regardless of the quality of service, etc. I think it’s a way of getting attention.

I have a lot of black friends in GA that are great, but we ate at a couple of black-owned restaurants that were very unfriendly.

Everyone has heard of Nashville Hot Chicken at this point.
Reason for the recent phenomenon is that a couple of white guys opened a joint that turned out a high quality product, faster and with better customer service in a safe neighborhood.
Hot chicken has been around for decades though and one of the main reasons it never became a thing before is the pioneering restaurant was black owned and staffed and was often racist and insulting to white customers. They got off on making white customers wait longer even after people came in and ordered after them.

In the article Yelp says they partnered with My BlackReceipt. Since I’m certain an entity called My White Receipt would be racist… the aforementioned must also be considered racist. That makes Yelp racist. They should have the honor of being the first business to wear their new racism badge especially since all it takes is an accusation according to them. I’m officially accusing them.

…I’ve told this story before, but it still applies…
There IS such a thing as “White People Chicken” and “Black People Chicken” when it’s Black wait staff doing the handing out. We argued about it for awhile, then chose to do an experiment.
The chicken place we had issues with had a weird parking situation where the lot was off to one side, across a street, and not visible from inside the restaurant, so we had a Black person and a White person get the same order, going in separately and not giving any indication they were together.
Guess who got the juicy, well-breaded, delcious pieces of plump, tender, well-cooked chicken, and who got the scrawny, clumpy, burnt where it wasn’t raw pieces?
And it was back-to-back, same exact order, and there was NO mixing of pieces between boxes, which was highly suggestive that some agency was afoot in selecting the chicken for each container OTHER than random chance.
…so then, we sent the Black person back in with the White person’s chicken to complain, and they seemed very surprised, but corrected it and apologized for it. They seemed to be having a lively discussion about it as she left.
…We did not repeat the experiment, but it might be fun to do so one day.
…because I wonder if the White person would have recieved the same treatment.
