A positive spin on this would be that white people are less racist, they view skin color as an immutable trait, not an accomplishment or an objective, they are like everyone else, not deserving of pride or shame.

I don’t have to tell ya’ that my kids and I spend a LOT of time on Indian reservations. My cousin put it best when he said that Tribal members we both spend time with bust their ass and stay busy. He gets along great with Tribal members too. Neither of us will ever be accused of being politically correct.
Tribal members have you figured out the very second they first meet you. Either they warm up to you right away, or it just ain’t going to happen ever. I was just discussing this with my family tonight at dinner.
Damn right I’m proud to be white. I’m proud of my white culture and I wouldn’t want to be anything but white. Being white is not only okay, it’s down right awesome.
Why wouldn’t I be proud being a member of a class of people that invented just about everything and continues to make life better around the world. White people are the most diverse group of people on the planet, all different shades of hair color, eye color, skin tones, and body shapes. Talent of whites is spectacular, there’s nothing a white person can’t accomplish.
The celebration of caucasians is basically endless.
I’d never trade that in to be black and pretend I’m more proud to be black than white. Then waste all my time bitching about imaginary oppression expecting a handout instead of focusing my time on things that need to be accomplished, then get a massive chip on my shoulder and carry all the weight of black fragility.
I still think that if we would start gouging out the eyes of all newborns from this point forward, we’d have this color shit licked in a generation or two.
You are not responsible for the color of skin you were born with. It’s just as silly to be proud of it as it is to be ashamed of it.
A successful job. A loving spouse. Thriving children. A safe and happy home. These are things that require diligent work in order to achieve. These are things we should be proud of.

I’m a fairly good auto mechanic. A fairly good plumber and electrician. I’m fairly good at electronics — even component level. I was told I was an excellent telephone man. I was told I was an excellent guitarist. I was told I was excellent at the demolition of on-air control rooms, and the electronic re-building of them (although I was slow at the re-building). And excellent with diagnosing camera-ops problems.
Anyway, in all this bullshit it never came up that I am a honkey, or a heterosexual.

How can one be “proud” of something they have no control over? Skin color is not an accomplishment.
