There has to be a step that completes the process, like baking or heating the injury? Maybe the goop just hardens?
Either way, have you ever noticed that the more expensive things are, the longer more drawn out the procedure is to fix it? A car tire gets buffed out a patch thrown in, good to go hit 100MPH+ within 20 minutes. Big machinery tire that cost more than a car and will never go above 15MPH, well that takes all day! I bet they could have just slapped that big patch on inside the tire like they do a car and get the same result. Digging the tread out seemed to be a needless step for a puncture injury.
I wonder if they ever thought of using an inner tube?
