Parent Holds Teacher Hostage For 6 Hours In California Classroom

Daily Caller: A parent having a “breakdown” held a Riverside, Calif. teacher hostage for six hours in her classroom, local authorities said Tuesday.

Students at Castle View Elementary School were evacuated after the parent allegedly assaulted a school employee and then locked himself in a room with one of the school’s teachers. MORE

    The parent who was shot by police after holding a teacher hostage in Riverside for hours later died Tuesday at Riverside Community Hospital, according to a Riverside police spokesman.
    Officer Ryan Railsback confirmed the man died but did not immediately have a time of death. He was identified by police late Tuesday as Luvelle Kennon, 27, Riverside.
    The more-than six-hour standoff at Castle View Elementary School in Riverside ended with two flash-bang grenades and the suspect shot and wounded, police said.
