Here is short video of Werner Klemperer, John Banner from Hogan’s Heroes, survivors of the Holocaust.
Banner, an Austrian and a Jew, emigrated to the US when Hitler took over Austria. He lost all his family in concentration camps.
Werner von Klemperer’s family was able to flee the country.
They sing Silent Night in its original language.
Robert Clary, “my little one,” Louis LeBeau, was in Nazi concentration camps, including Auschwitz, from 1942 until the 1945 liberation. Many of his family died there. He sings a short French Christmas carol.

Very powerful interview with Mr Clary.
Notice Ivan Dixon and Richard Dawson sitting on the right side. i would love to see the entire show.
Sorry BFH. Can’t watch this. Started but had to stop. Too many memories of Christmas Past. Too many gone.
Guess I still have more work to do on that “harden the heart” thing.
Thank you for posting this. I never knew the background story of these three men.
As MM said, Robert Clary’s interview was so powerful.
That was excellent – especially the Robert Clary interview.
Even after being in the camps, he is totally upbeat — he is NOT a victim !
Good memories of these folks, from childhood. Thanks for posting.
Too bad so many Jews hate Christians so much…After spending a few weeks reading Ha’aretz, Jewish Daily Forward, Jerusalem Post, etc., it gets pretty depressing.
Zero — Those are all Lefty Jewish rags, especially the Forward — don’t read them. For a change of pace, read Dennis Prager. He writes on a variety of issues, not just politics.
Burkhalter was also Jewish and spent time in a camp early on but managed to get out of Europe before the war. He was a Sargent in the US Air Corp during the war.
Hockstetter was Jewish too, but was American so he didn’t go through any of that.
“Nuzzing! I know nuzzing!”
I loved that show.
I actually remember seeing this live on TV as a kid. Thanks for posting this! Merry Christmas!
