A woman was shot by a Washington, D.C., police officer at the scene of a fire Saturday evening in Northeast Washington. Metropolitan Police Department Commander David Taylor said police were called to the scene at about 6:15 p.m. for a report of a fire. When officers responded they found a woman who was holding at least one knife, he said. Officers told her to drop the weapon but she did not respond to their command and as the woman continued to advance, she was shot once in the upper body, Taylor said. The woman was taken to the hospital, Taylor said, and is in stable condition.
Let’s say this once again. Do what the nice Officer says and he won’t shoot your ass. Easy Peasy.

She was way too close- they teach the 21 foot rule for a good reason. He’s lucky he didn’t end up with that knife in his neck.
She was within lunging distance when he pulled the trigger. People all around yelling at her to put it down.
The officer was completely justified.
And for anyone who says “it was just a steak knife”, ask yourself how many pilots were killed by terrorists with boxcutters on 9/11?
