  1. Back in the 1930s, H.L. Mencken, the “Bard of Baltimore”, angered his fellow journalists when he said that anyone on “relief” (welfare), should not be allowed to vote. He reasoned that if allowed, the politicians would soon just start directly bribing the voters to keep them in office.

Everyone thought he was crazy, but old H.L. stuck to his position.

He also famously stated, “As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

    Hellooooooo Barack 0bama!

  2. I saw my first Bernie bumper sticker today on a Toyota Rav 4 towing a small teardrop trailer with Wash. license plates coming back from on I-90 heading West over Lookout Pass into Idaho. Some middle aged guy was driving it, I wanted to yell at the guy and tell him he’s an idiot. Looked like he’d just gone camping and was headed back to the ecotopia of western Washington.

  3. I’d LOVE to be able to bring back PM Margaret Thatcher to debate Soc/Com Bernie.
“Socialism is fine, until you run out of other people’s money to spend.”
And not even the perpetual printing presses of our current Gooberment would help.
