What’s the Difference Between the New Left and the Old Left?

John Schindler at The Federalist explains the nature of leftist psychosis and how it has shifted in this century toward the annoying social warriors. Che-Guevara-T-Shirt-Printrussellbrandmessiah

Whether Old or New the goal of the left has always been the destruction of society in order to usher in their particular brand of utopia.

It’s only the justification for tearing up civilization that has changed.

The most worrisome difference is that the new left is more virulent and potentially deadlier than the ideology that killed 100 million in the last century.

  1. The Federalist is one of my regular reading sites. Mollie Hemingway is always good too.

American Spectator was good too. Quin Hilyer wrote a great column in 2008 about how the new left are full communist, and he predicted many of the things the Obama/Reid/Pelosi cabal would do. He’s unfortunately at National Review now, and has gone full RINO frothing at the mouth about Trump.

The left is so very close to their goal of one party rule – that he predicted. Trump is the only candidate even talking about limiting the illegal invasion which is meant to give the left a permanent electoral lock.

  2. I resent having to use the terms “left” and “right”, an invention of leftists to hide the fact that there was no difference between Stalin, Hitler and Mao.

But I think JFK at least loved his country. Obama sure as hell doesn’t. There’s a difference.

  3. “Left” and “Right” actually came from the French revolution, and the subsequent “tennis court oath” where on the “left” sat the Republicans and on the “right” sat the monarchists.

The socialists have appropriated the terms to further confuse the ignorant – such as calling the socialists in the Spanish Civil War, “Republicans” and Franco’s loyalists “Fascists” – which they weren’t – they called their party the “Falangists” which means “Phalanx.”
