The left is at it again. After Obama announced his “gotta prop up my criminal voter base” initiative, they just released the style sheet replacement for the phrase “juvenile delinquent” that all useful idiots will be using going forth.
Juvenile delinquent perfectly captures what normal thinking people want to describe – an underage person who has committed crimes.
The left, however, wants to muddy the waters, so they’ve cobbled together a new, vague, unicorn farty phrase – Justice Involved Youth.
It makes it sound like they might be volunteering at a correctional facility, handing out books to felons about self-lawyering. The youth’s involvement is not spelled out, is it?
How can anyone be part of an ideology that peddles such crapcake? Put aside the politics, let’s just call the two sides a draw on the merits of their philosophies for the sake of this argument. We’re from outer space, completely objective, and we’re going to evaluate the parties.
One party calls a person who illegally enters a country an “illegal alien.”
The other party calls them “undocumented workers.”

The term “juvenile delinquent” itself is mealy-mouthed. Delinquent? Is the kid late on his smart phone bill? How about calling a spade a spade: “child criminal”
“Justice” has very little to do with them.

The fact of the matter is Progressives have more organizations than Carter has pills. These people are really confused. They got a group for every gripe even if there are only two members… or maybe just one with multiple personalities!

Heinlein talked about this in Starship Troopers. He said the term “Juvenile Delinquent” was an oxymoron.
In order to be “delinquent”, one must first have a duty at which one has failed.
Therefore, it’s possible to have an “Adult Delinquent” when an adult fails in his duty to follow the law.
But a child below the age of majority is not expected to act with full adult responsibility. and so has no duty at which he has failed.
So he isn’t a Juvenile Delinquent. He’s simply a Juvenile Criminal.
