Yahoo News’ Hit Piece on Trump Is… Lacking

Donald Trump is not shy about reminding everyone where he went to school. “I went to the Wharton School of Finance,” he told a crowd in Phoenix last year. “I’m, like, a really smart person.” Trump arrived at Wharton, part of the University of Pennsylvania, in 1966, a transfer from Fordham University in the Bronx, with a burgundy suit, a green Ford convertible, and HUGE ambitions.

Despite his outsize presence today, though, most of Trump’s classmates have very few memories of the future business titan. Just what did the Donald get up to in college?

That’s it. There is no video. There are no interviews with classmates. All we’re left with is sarcastiquotes around the words really smart, and a clunky exit question.

That’s journalism in 2016. (I can’t even say “leftist” journalism. I’m sure there are some right-wing sites that are breathlessly cutting and pasting this article in their blogs.)

This “writer” is trying to insinuate that Trump was a loser in college or a nobody because no one remembers him. AND? No one likely remembers me from my college either. I was working and busting my hump trying to study and get my bills paid. I wasn’t a partier and had a steady boyfriend. I spent time with my family. AND? Am I not a relevant person now?

-This article almost sounds like “see, we don’t know Trump’s background in college, we better investigate for dirt”, then in the middle of writing this article, the author’s brain cell fired and thought, “Oh wait this could backfire on the anointed one”. We better drop it.
