You have to keep your eye on the ball. Try and get into the habit of identifying a marker (tree, pole, bush, etc.) where you hit the ball or last saw it.
Certain light conditions, fall leaves, tree trimming and overall ability can make this difficult. For these situations you simply need disposable balls.
