Cruz Picks non-Conservative Carly Fiorina – IOTW Report

Cruz Picks non-Conservative Carly Fiorina

Before we go any further with this story, here is RedState’s review of Fiorina in September of 2015.

While Fiorina has been called the right outsider, there is no critique of Donald Trump’s political positions that can’t be made of hers.

Let’s watch the mental backflips RedState makes today after this pick.

CNN-

Ted Cruz will name Carly Fiorina as his vice presidential running mate on Wednesday, according to two sources — a last-ditch move to regain momentum after being mathematically eliminated from winning the GOP presidential nomination outright.

The Texas senator will make the announcement at an afternoon rally in Indiana, which votes Tuesday in the next GOP contest. Cruz must have a strong showing in the Hoosier State to help block rival Donald Trump from securing the 1,237 delegates necessary to win the nomination, and keep alive his hopes of a contested Republican National Convention.
Cruz is trying to recapture the narrative and keep himself relevant after Trump seized momentum in the 2016 race with a sweep of all five East Coast states on Tuesday, which puts him closer to having enough delegates to win the Republican nomination. The unusual move from the Cruz campaign also comes just hours after the billionaire businessman, who is trying to look like the presumptive nominee, gave a high-profile scripted speech on foreign policy.

  1. Ole Teddy has fully jumped the shark now pretty much ruining any chance he might have had of a 2nd ballot nomination if he was lucky enough to be awarded the opportunity. What a joke.

  2. Carly Fiorina talks a good game for the electorate of America, but, in reality, she is another neo-conservative player who belongs more to the noxious left than to the old Constitutional right. She’ll never get my vote. — Freedom Outpost

  3. Carly Fiorina is a Moslem apologist. That says enough for me. I am disgusted. I was a Cruz supporter for a year before the primaries started. Without going into pages of detail I voted for Trump in the Ohio primary.
This is me screaming: What the bloody Hell is wrong with you Ted Cruz?!?!

  4. Calling Carly Fiorina a political outsider is like calling Joe Biden a genius.

Why? Because the fact is she is the consummate globalist, elitist beltway uni-party insider! Oh, and she loves them muzzies too!

Ole Lyin Ted’s motives couldn’t be more transparently clear, now could they?

I smell the stink of desperation all over the GOPe, especially after Trump’s massive victory last night. A clear majority in all five states, six if you include New York.

If only these so-called conservatives; Cruz, Kasich, Romney, etc., would expend the same amount of effort to defeat that criminal in a pantsuit…but she’s not going to put an end their little (new world order) scheme now is she?

    @NEVERHILLARY

  5. Well Ted sure as hell won’t be whining on and on about a rigged system – the Republican rigged system – but Carly sure ain’t going to help him get the ball through the ring.

  6. Ted Cruz couldn’t make a decision for himself if his own life depended on it. Jeff Roe’s career as a political strategist has reached its nadir and the same can be said for his boss. I wouldn’t be surprised if Cruz’s elected political career comes to a close at the next available opportunity.

  7. Exactly what judgement is he demonstrating by picking someone that had so little popularity she couldn’t make it to the main debate stage without some fudging of the polling data?!

It is going to be pretty hard to win Indiana giving speeches and referring to a hoop as a ‘basketball ring’. Not sure if that is what they call it in Canada. Good grief.

  8. At this point, what difference does it make? The only way Cruz can win is a contested convention. Should he win a contested convention, roughly half of the Trump supporters will not only never vote for Cruz, but will encourage Trump to go third party.

We are wasting our time even discussing this. We need to be preparing for a Hilliary win and focusing on getting people to the polls so we can hopefully keep the House and Senate. We will need a super strong majority in both chambers to keep Hilliary’s radical appointees from ever seeing the back side of a judges bench.

I’ll say it again, Cruz needs to drop out now. If he continues to the convention, he destroys any chances in 2020. We’re gonna need him then.

  9. Cruz’s white-fist fantasy of securing the Republican nomination is on the level of Book 22 of the Iliad . . . when Achilles mutilates Hector’s dead body and drags it around the walls of Troy behind his chariot. Hector’s dead. Give it a rest. You’re just embarrassing yourself.

  10. TO Menderman

    LOVE YOU.
    (well…dude..in a normal drunken sort of way…)

    WE NEED TO PREPARE
    AND THAT INCLUDES YOU!

We NEED YOU to beat Hillary.
    (I need your whiskey)

BOGART (Casablanca, Rick to Lazlo) SPEAKS TO YOU: “Welcome to the fight. This time, I know our side will win.”

  11. Oh, Ted just wanted to combine Carly’s delegate (<-singular!) with his own in an effort to hammer Trump. (eyeroll)

And BTW Ted, only the nominee gets to pick a running mate.

  12. I’ll never forget when my cousin was laid off from Hewlett Packer when Carly was in charge. Hmmm. Wonder if Fiorina used those H21 visas to replace my cuz with foreign workers?
    Smart choice, Ted!!

  13. so Medved is floating the idea that trump picks krispy crème! Is there any truth to that one. Also Crazy8, Regan did that in 76 prior to the convention so yes you can pick early.

  14. LOL!! Lyin’ Ted Cruz and That Face Carly Fiorina. Yeah that’ll work – for the RINO establishment. Hopefully, Trump won’t be stupid enough to pick a GOPe as VP, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did.

  15. Trump has a great policy on Israel. But can someone post a link to Carly the next VP of America singing a luaby to Cruz and his kids. I know we all want to hear her sing, thats at the top of the list on the VP’s job.

  16. Ted is like the sinking Titantic passenger; grabbing onto any flotsam to keep from sinking. First letting looney Beck speak for him, then the ‘deal’ he thought he made with grouchy Kasich and now grabbing one of the first sinking losers of this process. Amazing. He would have been better off with Rubio.

  17. Sam:
I made the mistake of turning on Beck again this morning. Did you know that if Trump is elected President that the USA will be destroyed? Honestly, Beck needs medication.
I wouldn’t let that guy be my supporter if I was selling sports cups.
By the way, did anyone see Bobby Knight with Trump on the Greta show tonight? I wanna see Trump throw some chairs. He’d win every State in the country if he did that. Heh heh.

  18. @depenguin, just going to assume you’ve been extremely busy today and unaware Trump stated emphatically in his address, he supports Israel.
    Since you probably didn’t hear the Trump address – here it is;

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XW8RqLN3Qao .

I’m even more concerned about where you’ve been while Obama has been pissing on Israel for the past eight years.
The so-called jewish supporters of Israel you mentioned are delusional, not to know Trump’s Israel policy can’t compare to Obama’s spiteful, manipulate and heinous anti-Semitic ideologies.

  19. 99th, when Trump has talked, as opposed to reading what he has been told to say by a teleprompter, he has repeatedly advocated a 2 state solution and claimed that Israel shares equal blame for the problems there.
You can believe the teleprompter, I choose to believe Trump.
