Teacher forces 2nd graders to stick heads in bucket of urine

EAG: KING WILLIAM, Va. – Shawn Martin is fuming after he learned his son’s second-grade teacher forced the boy and others in his class to stick their head in a toy bucket with urine.

Martin told WWBT his son came home from Cool Spring Primary School April 29 complaining that he had a bad day.

“And I said boy, you’re an 8-year-old in the second grade, how bad could your day have really been?” Martin said.

Apparently, it was pretty bad.  more

  1. While the title given the story is somewhat accurate – it is misleading.

Who else thought “2nd graders to stick heads in bucket of urine ” meant the whole class had to endure their heads being wet with urine? That makes two things misleading with that title.

I went from THAT”S OUTRAGEOUS! to Oh, that’s not right, but at least not as bad as I was led to believe.

  2. Jam your head in a bucket of piss to equate 3+2. I don’t know what’s worse, thinking it would be an acceptable teaching method for common core or the teacher actually making the kids do it.

  3. From the article:

…officials claim “appropriate action has been taken to ensure that such conduct does not repeat itself.”

Chicken-shit and mealy-mouthed. Conduct does not repeat itself. A person, an actual individual person, can repeat his conduct.

What sort of twisted ideas must there be in a man’s head for him to believe you might identify an individual solely by the odor of his urine?

  4. When I was in kindergarten they wanted me to put my hands in paint and then paint
on paper. Well. I had just got my ass spanked the night before for doing the same thing
at home. I used a can of wall paint I found in the basement.
So I got up walked out the side door and walked two blocks home. Told my mother
what they wanted me to do. So she walked me back to school and explained the situation.
    It was apparently ok.

This was a small city school where you could walk home for lunch. Mom was always home.
