State House Speaker Mike Hubbard (R-AL) was convicted on Friday for 12 of 23 felony ethics charges by a jury. He was immediately removed from office and faces up to 20 years.
“Prosecutors said Hubbard used the power of his office to improperly benefit his companies and clients and to try to obtain $2.3 million work of work, investments and financial favors.”
Hubbard tried to argue that all the transactions were legal under AL law and is expected to appeal the conviction.
At least with corrupt GOP politicians you get a something in return. With the democrats you get negative.
He’d have gotten away with it if he’d had a Global Foundation.
the only difference between democRats & repugnican is that repugnicans are prosecuted
Throw the bastard out. Now, how about equality between the parties???
Must be a boehner/ryan gravy train conservative.
Vote ALL incumbents out! Yes, baby and bathwater…one term in office and out, never to be employed in government again. A stipend, no salary, room and board at the local post/base for the part time (two weeks) legislature to meet once a year to prepare the budget. Until we insist on some scenario like this, at the state and federal levels, these creatures will continue to rape our pocketbooks and endanger the nation for their own personal gain.
Never mind jail for this guy; he should be crucified, literally and publicly.
