Where will President Donald Trump donate his paycheck?

Hannity: Donald Trump will donate his paycheck as President of the United States towards the restoration of the Antietam National Battlefield, a national park in Maryland that commemorates the site of the bloodiest single day of the American Civil War.

Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke made the announcement on Wednesday, saying the President’s $78,333 paycheck will go towards preserving the memorial and grounds at the battlefield.

An anonymous donor added another $22,000 to the gift, bringing the total to over $100,000.

“As both the Secretary of the Interior and a military veteran, I’m deeply honored and humbled to deliver the donation to Antietam National Battlefield on behalf of President Trump,” said Zinke. “The President’s donation will allow generations of Americans to learn about our history and heritage on this sacred site.”  MORE

  1. What an uninspired battle plan from General McClellan …. Morning — attack left flank; Mid-day — attack center; Late afternoon — attack right flank. He really had Lee chasing his tail, didn’t he?

And to top it off, after he actually broke the Confederate center with appalling casualties on both sides, he fails to exploit, making the whole thing an exercise in bloody futility. And then the attack on the right involves crossing a bridge, with the Union troops packed so tight a blind Confederate with one arm could have picked one off.

The Civil War could have ended that day. McClellan knew where the Rebels were and had twice the troops. The Army of Virginia would have been destroyed if Grant had been there

  2. @Thirdtwin: You may be more right than you want to be. Civil War monuments PLUS the receipt of a large donation from Trump? I can hear Moldylocks and her ilk are packing a Greyhound bus to Antietam as we speak.

  3. I commend President Trump for his actions. He leads by example. Had he not entered the race we would be a lost nation. Now to get the house and senate republicans to start supporting our president. And that includes his family as well. I will not say nor will I support disparaging remarks about the first family.
They did not have to do what they are doing, but they love this country as I and many of us here do. They are attacked relentlessly by the left, the media and our education institutions enough. No need to do it here.
Thank you for letting me clear the air.

  4. It’s a very large and very beautify battlefield park. The parking lot use to be right along blood lane, but now its a nice paved walkway.

McClellan didn’t want to win, he just didn’t want to lose and spoil his chance at the Democratic nomination for president in 1864.

  5. BASTARD! President Trump reminds me of the song HIGH HOPES.
