20-year-old James Fields of Ohio arrested on Saturday following attack at ‘Unite the Right’ gathering

Who is James Fields?

(this post will have multiple updates.)

James Fields surrendered to authorities.

Reports say the police do not feel he acted out of malice, but acted of of fear because his car was being swarmed.

The Guardian, however, is saying he’s been charged with 2nd degree murder.

“He has been charged with second degree murder, three counts of malicious wounding and failing to stop at an accident that resulted in a death,” Kumer said in an email.

Odd, because an alleged still shot of the driver does not match the mugshot picture.

But it does match the description of eyewitnesses who say the driver was skinny with a scraggly beard.

Guardian:

The photographer Pat Jarrett, who was close by when the incident took place, told the Guardian: “A gray Dodge Charger plowed into a sedan and then into a minivan. Bodies flew. People were terrified and screaming. Those closest to it said it was definitely a violent attack. The driver, who people later described as a skinny white guy with a straggly beard, reversed out of there and drove off, the front end of his car all smashed up.”

James Fields seems to be paunchy.

  10. Tech reporter for The Hill​ Taylor Lorenz reports that police believe the suspect didn’t intentionally mow down protesters out of malice intent. Lorenz reports that authorities believe that the suspect acted out of fear as protesters swarmed the vehicle, some allegedly acting violent.

  14. Something about this whole affair doesn’t pass the smell test. I have some questions.
    1. Why weren’t both protest groups segregated?
    2. Who bused in the Antifa/BLM assholes and why isn’t that group/persons being sought by authorities for an explanation of their actions?
    3. Why is the press running with the narrative that the right-wing demonstrators are somehow responsible when there were absolutely no issues until Antifa, BLM etc… showed up?
    4. Authorities in VA had to know this was going to be a powder keg and yet allowed this to happen, almost as if it was intentionally done to fuel anti right-wing sentiment. Did the Gov. and or local authorities give a directive to allow this?

Governor declares state of emergency what – a half hour before it’s set to start? – which means police can break up any crowd, permit be damned, no reason needed. All against a backdrop of Antifa/BLM promising a special guest appearance. And the Daily Caller has a story on it written by an “Education Editor” stating it was a clash “between white supremacists, Black Lives Matter, Antifa and other groups.” Not between “White Nationalists” (and there is quite a difference), who had a permit, and bussed-in BLM/Antifa, who did not.

    I think this had the potential to be much worse than it turned out. From what I’m reading the fix was in, a definite ambush planned. That’s when the police suddenly showed up and arrested the poor innocent man, as the terrorists antifa scum fled the scene. He’s innocent I tell ya, INNOCENT !
