    BMAN, that has always been assault. Maybe you’re thinking of battery. Which this qualifies as also. Albeit, not so damaging as a fist fight or clubbing over the head with a blunt object.

    There is a reason it’s called Assault AND Battery. Physical contact comes after the assault. You can assault someone with words and physical threats of action by intimidating someone – like hulking over them with a fist cocked like you may punch them. That is assault.
