Pope Francis Should ‘Repent or Else Resign’

Breitbart: In his 2018 wish list, John Zmirak, Senior Editor of The Stream and author of the new Politically Incorrect Guide to Catholicism, writes that he hopes Pope Francis “repents or else resigns” this year.

From The Stream:

Pope Francis has done more to divide Catholics than any pope in 150 years. He has clouded the Church’s teaching on marriage and sexuality. Francis has thrown out the clear, recent teaching of two of his immediate predecessors — which echoed Church practice and preaching for 2000 years. He has politicized the papacy, using its bully pulpit to further crudely crafted left-wing talking points on everything from the economy to immigration to climate science. He has marginalized and punished his critics, to the point that a new book calls him the “Dictator Pope.” Now he’s defending his handpicked lieutenant, Cardinal Oscar Rodriguez Maradiaga. That Honduran leftist (and anti-Semite) is accused of massive corruption that benefited him personally, to the tune of $40,000 per month. Other favorites of Pope Francis include the disgraced Belgian Cardinal Wilfrid Daneels — who was caught on tape trying to silence a sex abuse victim — and LGBT advocate Fr. James Martin, SJ.  more here

  1. Amen. And, in case you’d like a snapshot of all that is wrong in the Vatican, see photos and article on the nativity scene with too much agenda and not enough clothing:

I’m not abandoning my place in the pew -yet- because the Gospels and good parish priests keep me there but some of the hierarchy and their minions get a bit tiresome.

  2. He won’t repent. He has no clue how wrong he is about everything he’s suppose to represent. Pope Francis clearly has no relationship with the True and Living God through Jesus Christ.

  3. I am Roman Catholic and know by training in the faith that popes are NOT infallible unless speaking Ex Cathedra. Otherwise, when he speaks, I don’t give a hoot, except that it hurts me terribly that he is undermining the Holy Mother Church to those who don’t know Catholicism,.

“ex cathedra [(eks kuh- thee -druh)]

Descriptive term for an official pronouncement from the pope. Ex cathedra is Latin for “from the chair.” Roman Catholics believe that the pope speaks infallibly when speaking ex cathedra on questions of faith or morals, such as when Pope Pius XII declared in 1950 that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was physically taken up to heaven after her death.
(Anyone want to argue that, I have one word for you to understand why it was necessary that God assume the body of His mother.)

  4. @Saxindacity, I was thinking along the same lines – this pope is trying to destroy the Catholic church just like Oblahblah tried to do to the USA.

Oh, and your comment about Michele Bachmann … I sure hope that happens. I was so sad when she gave up her Rep seat. I was pretty sure she had something else in mind and thought it might be to challenge Amy Klobuchar (who is so beloved by all the liberals in the state – gag).

  5. Rub a dub dub – two popes in a tub – which one’s gonna do the next fub?

The pope is human and a sinner – no pronouncement by a bunch of men wearing funny clothes and large wet rings will ever make it any different. Francis is working on becoming the “false prophet” of the anti-christ.

If I was a mean person that’s what I’d say – but I’m not so I’ll just say all of us need to pray and develop our own relationship with God so we’re not depending on anybody else at the last judgment – they won’t be of help.

  6. He seems like just the kind of pope you’d expect to have when the antichist pops up. Maybe he’s just signaling…”Hey, antichrist. I know you’re out there. Just so you know, I’m your guy.”

  7. This article is a slander. It hobbles together a few articles about allegations of unfaithful priests and then says “they are favorites of Pope Francis”.

This is yellow journalism. Democrat journalists could learn a lot from this article.

BFH ought to be more selective in his links to criticism of the Pope.

There is no question there are idiot and leftist clergy in the church. Always has been. It is so dishonest to say this is the position of the Pope.

  8. Just started reading a book on Martin Luther and the corruption of the Catholic Church in his time.

It seems it was more than justified that Protestants split off from that wicked institution. The Catholic church still has not found its moral rudder and this pope is a really bad joke. That being said, there is a part of the Lutheran church that is absolutely damned with their sinful support of homosexuality.
