It Takes A Horse’s A$$ To Find Offense With Dolly’s Rodeo Show

Entertainer Dolly Parton is changing the name of her “Dixie Stampede” dinner and show to something not as associated with the Civil War South.

Self-appointed cultural scold for Slate, Aisha Harris, attended a performance in August stating before hand, “So when the debate over Confederate monuments reignited earlier this month, I knew I had to see for myself whether this thing was really as tasteless as it seemed.” Normally, I wouldn’t link to Slate, but this reviewer’s relentless quest for offense (and every person of color) needs to be read to be fully appreciated.

The show will now be called “Dolly Parton’s Stampede,” so simpletons like Harris won’t get too confused about the nature of the entertainment. More

  1. Don’t like Dolly, never did. Most annoying voice out there. That said, who is she pandering to?… those who hate the south, their culture, conservatives and Christians…. that’s who.
Does she honestly think it’s these assholes who sustain her businesses?…
Tell them all to go to hell. God Almighty…is Trump the one one with a backbone?

  2. A) Dolly Parton has always been a center-left Democrat so, welcome to your party.
    B) It’s quite an accomplishment to embarrass a woman who wears that much makeup and has titties that big.

    Congratulations.

  3. In all seriousness…. this is a local attraction immediately outside Knoxville and I can tell you people ’round here are beyond heartbroken over this. Dolly is a class act beyond measure and was revered even before she set up the MyPeople Fund after the wildfires. This is seen as a personal attack on her.

  4. I think it’s the company that operates the rodeo show that made the call, not Dolly. It seems to me that Dolly lends her name to the business and shoots a video once in a while that they play for the crowd.

Still, I’d like to see some country music star do a “Deplorashow” some time, with plenty of pretty young ladies on horses with HUGE American flags, guys in monster trucks despoiling the environment with glee, even a General Lee or two to do some jumps for the crowd. Now that would be entertainment.
