    And every bit listenable and enjoyable.
    For many years – decades – his was the one game a week.
    It would’ve been a great honor to have him call your touchdown.

  2. One of the best, his commentary was the best in college football hands down. Even if what a game between 2 teams I had no interest in, he would make it interesting. Even the old USFL games, I think he did a game or 2 of that league too if I recall right.

  3. Jackson’s one-man crusade to prove a defensive back could win the Heisman kept it away from one of the best players ever to play the game.

    But I don’t recall him ever lecturing anyone about politics, so there’s that.

  4. He was a Washington State alumni. I loved it when he would broadcast games from WSU, introducing it as the frozen tundra of the Palouse. Only Washingtonians knew what he was talking about. RIP Mr Jackson.
