Claudia – thanks for introducing me to Rem Wall and The Green Valley Boys. I’ve never heard them or even heard of them. Reminds me a little of Jack Green and that type of “sound” from the mid to late ’50’s. Good stuff!

Bubba’s Bro, I grew up listening to the Green Valley Jamboree every weekend. It was on WKZO TV in Kalamazoo, MI for a few decades. I fell in love with the steel guitar and when I hear it today, it brings back pleasant memories.
I love a steel guitar too Claudia. Buddy Emmons and Pete Drake were two of the best at it. Most of the major Nashville recordings with great steel guitar in the 50’s through the 80’s and later was one of these guys (Buddy Emmons died only a couple of years ago). Ernest Tubb used both of them and always mentioned his “players” during the song with something like “and here’s Buddy Emmons now”. This song features Buddy in somewhat of a solo at about 1:55, but you can hear that wonderful sound all the way through. He makes it look effortless.
