Biologists have known for a while how bacteria exchange DNA with each other and in the process will build an immunity to our drugs. By studying transposons, also called “jumping DNA,” on the molecular level, German researchers believe there are tricks we can use when designing new antibiotics that can keep the bugs from sharing immunity with each other. Figures the Germans would come up with this. Living in a giant petri dish and all.
Most of the garden variety of antibiotics
are becoming useless. One reason is the dumping
of unused antibiotics into the sewer system. This
is happening world wide. The critters in the sewer
get just enough taste of it to get sick but not die….
actually amazing what they’re doing these days w/ alterations of DNA on a molecular scale

Call us when you can actually do that. Still waiting on fusion power, teleportation, switching off the aging gene, and printer cartridges that cost less than the printer. 😉
Yeah! I will sit still for a German enhanced virus to be injected in me……. NOT!

Antibiotics are over-prescribed. In many turd-world countries, they are available over-the-counter. Ignorant people use them until they feel better and then stop, before all the bacteria are killed; a few of the strongest bacteria survive to reproduce, and voila! antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
Tony R,
Doesn’t even have to be third word countries… Right here… Think rich guy/gal that shops for a doctor to cure his/her kids so they can get back to the office…

I other than military entry, I’ve never taken anti biotics.
