Cuba and the “99%” literacy rate

Someone sent me this clip of a hulking Marxist cliChe Guevara type at Santa Clausa Clara University, and while she rants like a feckless c*nt she spews the “Cuba has a 99% literacy rate” garbage.

I am so sick of hearing this crap. Even if we take them at their word (we all know communist regimes lie about the wonders of their Utopia and their leaders) the boast is asinine.

What good is being literate if the government controls what you can read and write?

Also, there is virtually no migration to Cuba. We get millions of immigrants that are not only suspect in their own language, they have no prayer of speaking English, which drives down our literacy rate.

I remember in grade school we had a few Spanish kids in the class that spoke very little English. They dragged the entire class down.

Cuba doesn’t have that problem.

Dumb bint.

  1. “Have you heard of Puerto Rico? (boomp!)
Have you heard of Puerto Rico? (boomp!)
Have you heard of Puerto Rico? (boomp!)
    Cha-cha-cha!”

Catchy tune, but I don’t think it’ll make the Hit Parade.

  2. Just once, I want to see one of these videos where one of the clean-cut, nicely dressed young men walks around the table, and gives the mouthy bitch a left hook to the jaw. I would pay to see that.

  3. Actually, yesterday they announced 100% literacy rate. She is so behind the times! Even severely retarded children are reading on an 11th grade level while still in 8th grade. Go Cuba! Your country must be conquering cancer and making huge medical strides! Your programmers are the best in the world, Hail Cuba 🙂

  4. Cuban literacy was the highest in the Caribbean and Central America, but prior to the revolution, it was the highest in the region anyway.
    So what?
How come no one questions their infant mortality rate claims?
That is better than America’s too, according to Cuba.
If you believe the Cuban numbers, there are places in rural Cuba that have not had an infant mortality since the 1970’s.
It’s not true, but leftists life to recite that fact.
In reality The United States has one of the lowest infant mortality rates in the world. Once you get out of some inner cities that more resemble Africa and Central America, America’s infant mortality rate is better than almost all of Europe’s simply because our numbers are about the only ones that are not massaged.
Almost no other country will count the deaths of babies who die in the first 48-hours as a “live” birth. The United States does and that radically skews our infant mortality rates downward while allowing countries like Cuba to report anything they feel like.
Cuban reports of literacy, infant mortality, or any other development index are utter fantasy.

How UNPATRIOTIC! No one beats America’s H-1B Indian programmers!

  6. But in Cuba you have no right to govern your own life. There is place to go with your life by reading. So the government teaching them to read is like installing tire swings in the primate cage at the zoo.

To what end their literacy? They might as well be swinging on tire swings for all it has to do with their lives. They have no right to govern their own lives and no place to go with their literacy.

The Left is suffering from a blindness that sees everything but our lives.
