FOX Business: The Seattle City Council on Tuesday voted 7-2 to repeal a “head tax” on the city’s largest employers, granting a surprise victory to corporate giants such as Amazon and Starbucks just weeks after the council unanimously approved the measure.
The vote took place at a special meeting called by Council President Bruce Harrell and six other members of the nine-person Seattle City Council. Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan also supported a repeal.
The council struggled to conduct the vote at the meeting’s conclusion as protestors chanted “stop the repeal,” drowning out councilmembers as they attempted to cast their ballot. Councilwoman Kshama Sawant, who cast one of two votes opposing the repeal, said the council was “bending to big business” and referred to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos as an “enemy” of Seattle. MORE
Now these idiots want to raise property taxes, go figure. They won’t be happy until they extort every last taxpayer in Seattle and they all flee elsewhere turning it into Shitcongo or Detroilet.
Amazon had stopped construction on their facility. Once it gets completed, then the city council can “do the right thing” and implement the tax. But the tax is only a start. It won’t begin to solve the problem. They will need to impose more serious taxes in the future, once everyone gets used to the inevitable tiny trial tax.
I wonder if these idiots eat poultry. They must, they tried to kill their 2 golden geese.
Seattle will sooner than later run out of other people’s money to feed their socialist beast.
Soon to be a hipster Detroit.
Looks like a couple socialist got a lesson in Capitalism.
“Kshama Sawant”
You feelin’ okay? I heard you sneeze.
Unfortunately, WAY too many liberals fail to understand that businesses, tax-payers and other subservient donors that constantly throw money towards the ‘powers-that-be’ will eventually become unable to comply to their endless demand for money.
“Kshama Sawant
Whack Job, in my most melodic voice.
Ha, I thought I recalled the name Kahama Sawant

I wonder what happened with the law suit. In Nowhere Land is my bet.
I don’t know about Seattle in particular, but at least Washington is no Illinois, Kentucky, or New Jersey: https://taxfoundation.org/state-pensions-funding-2018/
Here in Philly, the loafer-light Mayor wants a “Give Head Tax” to replace his Soda Tax.
