Yea well, L.A. county to this day flushes it’s medical waste out to sea. Google it.
had a cute little family of rabbits in my back yard … until the neighbors (3/4 of a mile away) cat decided that they were really neat play-toys
… so?
btw, banning plastic straws to save the planet is much less effective then eco-wienies killing themselves to assure more resources for the starving Third World children … pass it on
So, do we have a blanket ban on anything that can fit up a sea turtle’s nose?
Is that the yard stick we’re using?
Yep, hard to watch. I hope they had *some* anesthesia…. ….Lady in Red
PS: Straws have disappeared, almost completely, from all the restaurants in my area. (I don’t much care one way or the other.)
PPS: How is the turtle doing now? Is there an update?
Haven’t they heard of WD-40?….Sea turtles with cocaine habits….who knew?…
@Lady in Red…*UPDATE*….yeah, he’s headed back home to lead the majority in the Senate as we speak….only missed 45 votes…
… reminds me of ‘Fusilli Jerry’ … “one in a million shot, doc. one in a million shot”
buhjeebus, it’s a turtle … properly cooked, it makes great soup
… for thousands of years ….
Not *that* turtle, Willy!
This is dated, but still funny:

It is top front page, above the fold and this city is chockablock overrun with heroin addicts and meth heads and this is what the virtue signaling, idiot, sub human trash running the city are focused on.

Wondering whatever happened to the paper straws of my youth.
If they are serious, this is the easy solution. Nature recycles paper quite easily on it’s own if it comes down to that.
Putting up with an occasional collapsed straw is the only downside I see, but that would be countered by “It’s ok that I can’t suck my drink through this straw for very long because I’m saving the
worldturtles”.Gosh. I reckon we need to start winding every hatched baby turtle in bubble wrap so they will all be safe long before they reach the water.
Would not put it past some leftist to shove a straw up turtle’s nose just to film this later for the purpose of changing the world.
Screw up a whole society over a stupid turtle? Ban Ecotards, save the straws.
Thickest drinking straw I have ever seen
I don’t have a problem reverting to paper straws. I can remember using them and they held up pretty well. I’d be glad if it helped some animals but my primary reasons would be the damn mess plastic ones make anywhere near a DQ or McD’s that never goes away and the shot in the arm to the forestry and pulp and paper industries a switch would bring. Hell, I can also remember when the ice cream cups came with those flat, thin wooden spoons. Do those to.
Birds get shredded by wind turbines or fried out of the sky by mirrored solar panels by the thousands and I never heard anyone banning those. Oh, that’s right, they are presents from our friends from the left. They never change course.
S2T, they haven’t figured out a way to scam millions from straws.
Sonny, I’m old enough to remember paper straws.
Nearly all plastic waste in the ocean, the trash-islands, come from Asia, not North America. Nearly ALL.
Why did that idiot cut the part she had gotten out just when she had something to hold on to?
