Major League Pitcher in Trouble For Tweets He Made as a TEENAGER

Why is MLB demanding anything from this guy? He wasn’t employed by the major leagues at the time.

Why not find out if he ever said anything stupid in kintergarden?

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Josh Hader is being punished now for things he tweeted as a teenager seven years ago.

Hader, now 24, was pitching in the All-Star Game Tuesday night when tweets he sent as a 17-year-old resurfaced and flooded the internet. His tweets contained homophobic and racist comments. The Daily Wire previously reported one message said “I hate gay people” and at least one other contained the N-word. When Hader left the game, he was told the old tweets had been found and he quickly deleted them and locked his Twitter account. He then apologized.

  1. Good thing there was no known internet when I was coming up…… Of course I only post my opinions here and one or two other places. No twits nor falsebook. So I am invisible……. bwaaaaahahahahahahahahaha

  2. Hmmm. Still don’t get the term homophobic. I’ve said all sorts of off-color (oops! racist) things about them degenerate faggots. But I don’t recall ever being afraid of doing so.

  3. When did Jesse Jackson apologize for blowing snot in white people’s food when he worked in a restaurant?

Or is that considered a revolutionary act to free the slaves?

  4. Actually, Mom warned against writing down anything mean or hateful. That you would regret reading it later on in life.

And that was just on paper. The threat of it coming back to haunt you has always been there. Digital age is quite the multiplier.

    Still applies today.

  6. Man, do I feel old when I hear phrases like, “tweeted as a teenager.”
When I was a teenager the big tech sensation was the Sony Walkman. At least it couldn’t get you in trouble years later.

  7. This is why we need to have an Internet Bill of Rights.

And one of those rights should be to anonymity. It was good enough for the Founders and The Federalist Papers, it is good enough for me.

My comments may not rise to the level of the Federalist Papers but the reason for anonymity remains the same – fear of reprisal by a mob or unhinged kook for speaking the truth.

Additionally, minors are by law not allowed the take part in the limited freedoms that adults enjoy be it because of experience, maturity or whatever. Intemperate comments from a rebellious adolescent shouldn’t be documented and held against them forever.

We don’t get to decide what people will get offended about today. Much less ten years from now.
