The president, who contends he has largely been covered unfairly by the press, also employs the term ‘‘fake news’’ often when describing the media.”
‘”I hope it would educate readers to realize that an attack on the First Amendment is unacceptable,’’ she said. ‘‘We are a free and independent press, it is one of the most sacred principles enshrined in the Constitution.”
“The Globe has reached out to editorial boards nationwide to write and publish editorials on Aug. 16 denouncing what the newspaper called a ‘‘dirty war against the free press.”
If I’m remembering correctly from my American History Studies, the First Amendment included the right to say things you disagree with, including the President for that matter? Or, ladies and gentlemen of the press, is the First Amendment only for words you like?
DJT is free to call you “fake news”, and if you honor the First Amendment then by the very principle you claim you must respect his derision of you. It is only if you do not, and in fact want to arrogate to yourself power you don’t have, to censor information and opinion you disagree with, that you would claim otherwise.
Yet that is exactly what you propose here – to shout down someone you disagree with. May I remind you that “hate speech” is not only in the eye of the beholder because the very term “hate speech” is subjective. What attack on the First Amendment? Has even one editor or reporter been dragged off to jail for publishing a story critical of Trump?
Has Trump ordered banning of certain publications or writers because of their content?
I seem to recall that Obama did a few things along those lines (James Rosen, Dinesh D’Souza) while being held up in the media as the Very Model of A Modern President.
As typical of leftists, they clamor to condemn in others what they advocate for themselves.

I’ve been asked by the Globe to write a generic editorial on behalf of all fake news…err, mainstream media outlets. Here is my first draft.
“Gaze into our eyes and repeat after us. We are not the enemy of the people. Barack Obama was the greatest President since….Barack Obama. Hillary Clinton is not corrupt. (You in the back – quit gagging). Jobs are bad. A healthy economy is bad. Foreign respect for America is bad. Peace is bad. The climate hoax is bad – no wait, that’s good. Like taxes; taxes are good. Jim Acosta is a journalistic god. The New York Times is like a Bible except for the moralistic prnciples and life wisdom. We can’t wait to repeal the First and Second Amendments. (Note to editor – that last sentence should be deleted until we get control of the White House and Congress).”

A family member of mine just mentioned to me the islamic camp out west where the children were starving and I said that guy is son to an unindicted co-conspirator in the ’93 WTC bombing, adding that the son’s name and the father’s name are the same. Is this not relevant to the story or is WTC old stale unimportant news? What sort of reporting is it that omits important facts, taqiyya or Fake News or both?
I today’s White House presser, the cunts in the MSM made up some imaginary history that nobody working in the White House signs an NDA. JFC… If you don’t have a security clearance, and you’re working in the White House, then you sure as hell do sign an NDA. I do contract work for the Dept. of HHS and have to sing five fucking NDAs per year. Democrats are fucking insane. They just make up rules and history as the go along. They’re not anchored to any reality at all.

The press that Trump and the rest of us despise are nothing more than advocates for the democrat party. I wonder if these clowns are really so dim witted that they actually believe they play a vital role in protecting the public from an over intrusive government. I don’t think they realize just how loathed by the majority of the public. And now they’ve coordinated to dig themselves even deeper into irrelevance.

The latter part of that statement is demonstrably false. Unless they intend the usage of “independent” to indicate the freedom to chose which partisan position to champion.
