Two local republicans running for office in Minnesota were assaulted by those opposing their campaigns this weekend. In separate incidences, State Rep Sarah Anderson of Plymouth was punched by a self identified “anarchist” following a confrontation with the stranger attempting to destroy one of her campaign signs. Shane Mekeland of Becker suffered a concussion when he was attacked at a restaurant. Mekeland was meeting with the establishment’s personnel to see if it would be possible to hold a staff meeting there, when one of the group punched him in the face without warning. More
