Putin Signs ‘Fake News,’ ‘Internet Insults’ Bills Into Law.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a controversial set of bills that make it a crime to “disrespect” the state and spread “fake news” online, Russian media reported on Monday.
The bills amending existing information laws overwhelmingly passed both chambers of Russian parliament in less than two months. Observers and some lawmakers have criticized the legislation for its vague language and potential to stifle free speech.
The legislation will establish punishments for spreading information that “exhibits blatant disrespect for the society, government, official government symbols, constitution or governmental bodies of Russia.”
The left will get this story completely backwards, claiming this is Trump’s dream.
Trump has not signed anything that stifles free speech, he merely criticizes the 4th estate as a satellite branch of the DNC. He points out fake news, he doesn’t sign bills to silence it.
The left, however, would love to dismantle the 1st amendment, and make us more like every other left-leaning country that jails people for expressing ideas that are not state approved.

Putin is a cunning leader with power to control his whole government. Trump puppet is surrounded by crafty advisers and has no power of his own to control their power to play mean and nasty anywhere they want to. Putin got the US uranium supply co-opted illegally and sold to Russia by Hillary Clinton under Obama, and neither one of them is out of action and in prison where they belong. Putin is biding his time waiting for the USA to either collapse under Marxist political traitors and/or to be nuclear war wiped out.
The Russians have lived under the thumbs of Autocrats since … uhh … since there was a Russia.
Actually, since before that – I believe the Duchy of Muscovy was Autocratic, as well.
Putin’s just one of a long line.
The real surprise is that he hasn’t declared himself Czar – he only lacks the title.
