Japan’s emperor will voluntarily step down at the end of the month to end the “Heisei” (achieving peace) era.
This morning, Japanese officials announced the beginning of the “Reiwa” era once the new emperor Naruhito ascends the Chrysanthemum Throne. More
According to the BBC, “The term for the new era is made up of the two characters Rei and Wa. Rei can mean “commands” or “order”, as well as “auspicious” or “good”.
Wa often means “harmony”, and is also used in the Japanese word for “peace” – “hei-wa”.” More
Commands/Order + Harmony =
“We’ll get along just fine if you do what I tell you to do.”
I simply don’t understand asian culture, nor do I think that any nation that still retains an emperor in rhis day and age has advanced to the modern standard.
Era? Nah, I only use Biz.
Japan is awesome. God bless
I would have guessed Reiwa loosely translated meant, more schoolgirls.
ISN’T HE JUST SUPPOSED TO COMMIT SEPPUKU??
Fortunately for this nation we’ve come out of the Reign of Error and have begun the MAGA saga.
Just remember what happened to the germans after they bombed Pearl harbour!
“NARUHITO!?!?! KAIJUHITO!!!!! KAIJUHITO-SAMA!!!!!!”
“That’s right Takashi-san, the new emperor is certainly ugly enough to be considered a monster.”
Heisei era stamps and coins are gonna be collectable now… and I have a few from different purchases from Japan over the years. 🙂

As long as it’s not a repeat of the Showa era, We should be all set.
