  1. A lot of carpenter’s I’ve worked with drove Chevy trucks. I learned a lot about them and their families giving them a ride home from job sites.

  2. “You know, I got REALLY sick and tired of the luxury and dependability of my expensive import car, so I decided to drop my standards and expectations to new lows, and boy, did I make the right choice with a move to Chevy!”

  3. I would never drive anything but a Ford, out of loyalty to the company. My dad worked his ass off for more than 30 years in one of their assembly plants.

  4. I have an 11-year-old Ram 1500 work truck (manual everything) that I bought new and has been a great truck for me. More than once I’ve had more weight in the bed than I should but it has never failed me.

If (and that’s a big if) I was to buy a new one, my first 2 choices are the new Jeep Gladiator or Honda Ridgeline (both made in the US). Jeep is rumored to have a diesel coming out next year, and it’s the only convertible truck.

  5. Chevy had its one and only chance with me when I bought my first new car, a 1980 Monte Carlo. I hated it the minute I drove it off the lot. Had it 4 years, and nearly everything in it had been replaced by then. You blew it!

  6. Well just so happen to go to the mechanic this past weekend.

Oil change for the Ford Escape, bought it used about two years ago, ten years old, under 100k and LOVE it.

I told this to the kind lady behind the counter, Angie, and SHE told me that there is another customer with the same truck, WHO happens to have BMW and Mercedes and he DIGS his Ford! ‘ Likes the way it feels’ And I FEEL the same way.

I am partial because I drove my first cross country trip in an F-100…white top and blue bottom, piggy back camper on top…

    WHAT.A.VEHICLE.

  7. I had a ’94 Suburban that made it 400,000 miles. But that was a different era.

I drove a brand new Impala about 10 years ago and it was a piece of shit… underpowered, ugly, and full of computerized BS.

  8. Oh, I forgot, my first new car was an S-10. Absolute junk. It went back to the shop 3 times in as many months with a clutch that simply wouldn’t disengage. My uncle, on the other hand, had an S-10 that couldn’t be killed.

  9. I owned Chevy trucks in the past and had no issues with them Right now I drive a Tundra. No issue with it, either. My daily driver is a 2009 Honda Fit; 365,000 miles on the little gal. Still uses no oil between changes and gets 38-42 mpg on the interstate, depending on how heavy my foot is.

I think cars/trucks are just made better today, mechanically, that is.
