Sara Carter: Judea Pearl, father of the late Daniel Pearl, renounced his NYU “distinguished alumni status.” He made his decision after NYU announced that the activist group Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) received the University’s prestigious Presidential Service Award.
“This sad happening at NYU unveils the power of ignorance in the electronic age,” he wrote on Twitter. “I bet my esteem colleagues at NYU do not know that their university is awarding a ‘president service award’ to SJP, a student organization that prides itself on crushing meetings of other student organizations.”
NYU administers say, the award is for students and student organizations that are committed ‘to civic engagement and service in local communities.’ Further, the award is given to the group with the greatest positive impact.

NYU’s decision to award the organization was too much for Judea Pearl. His son Daniel was killed at the hands of Islamic terrorists in Pakistan, while working for the Wall Street Journal as an investigative reporter in the region.
The killing was gruesome. Daniel Pearl was tortured and beheaded by Islamic terrorists in 2002. Sadly, the terrorists circulated a video of his beheading. Before Pearl was killed his final words were, “My father is Jewish. My mother is Jewish. I am Jewish.” MORE HERE
