Father, Dad or Daddy – IOTW Report

Father, Dad or Daddy

Happy Father’s Day to all our iOTWr fathers!

A little bird told me that today is someone’s birthday. Not only that, but he was actually born on Father’s Day.

Happy Birth/Father’s Day, Dadof4!

  1. Thank you, Claudia!

It’s even more special this time. I wrote Fur an email explaining things a bit, so he may publish that later.

    In short:
I found an old friend (46 yr gap) that became a pastor.
I joined his church – my first ever.
I asked him if he’d do me the honor of baptizing me and he said yes!
After the service this morning I’ll be dunked for Jesus!

My whole family, several friends, and the congregation will also be there. It should be accomplished before 10:30 am cst. There is more detail and story to all this that I haven’t shared yet, but this is what’s happening for me today!

It’s raining here so we are using a horse trough under a roof they have for this purpose instead of a pool. How more Texan could it get? lol! I love the rain, so it’s all good, even though two friends won’t be driving in it.

Thank you for all you do, Claudia!

P.S. Where da fox daddy at? 😀

  2. Dadof4, I’m so happy for you. I know what it’s like trying to live the Christian life without a ‘base’ (home church). Tried it for 15 years and when God led me to the church (long story) where he wanted me, I realized how off the track I had gotten.

    God bless you richly today!

Edit: Found a fox mommy, but no daddy!

  3. Thanks, C!
Not my birthday, tho (in case anyone was wondering).
    Happy Father’s Day to all.

  4. To any and all daughters of all ages who read this, do me a favor and kiss your dad and hug him today. Tell him how much he means to you.

This is my first Father’s Day without mine and it’s something I’ve been dreading… I miss him so so much.

So, remember, even if your relationship with your dad isn’t the greatest, he’s still your dad and he’s not going to be around forever. Be nice to him, and tell him that you love him.

  5. Last year a salesclerk told me “Happy fathers day.”
I said I hope not because I might have 18 years of back child support

Happy fathers day to you dads out there tho!

  6. Yes, Claudia, I’ve been lacking fellowship, while I think being surrounded by wolves most my life strengthened me, I really needed brothers and sisters on this path. Glad I found a home now.

I’m off now. I’ll be back much later in the day.

Chuffed is right. Don’t take anyone for granted. We are here but a short time.

    Love you all, later!

  7. “Honor thy mother and father”

@ chuffed beyond words – my Dad is gone, 31 years and my oldest sister sent me something that made me tear to this day. His pic of him in the WWII Coast Gaurd hangs over me right now. I have my two boys, 12 and 13 that I have been blessed with. And all my dad’s being is in THEM now.

Hang in there, your Dad is WITH YOU.

@ Claudia- Thanks! Still trying to figure out what that large leafed plant is…

  8. chuffed-beyond-words, it may never get easier, but your love will only grow. It’s been 16 years for me. I still miss Dad.

Jethro, thanks! I can always count on you to find fox pics. After all, you are the one who gave me my avatar!

And about the spider cake, what better BD cake then a bug for the bugman! 😉 (Is “bug” proper for spiders, since they are not insects?)

  9. “Is “bug” proper for spiders, since they are not insects?”

Yes. Anything that moves you can call a bug if you’re talking to a reasonable bug man that just wants to get to it and not have to “be right” or feel superior all the time. Not like we are writing entomological papers here.

If you want to get down to the bottom of it – there is a difference between true bugs and insects.

Kinda appropriate for all the animal kingdom references in the vid…

Thanks to Claudia for Sundays’ Best!

To Chuffed – sucks big time, but that which does not kill you, makes you stronger…lost my dad when I was 22 and that was not a good time to loose a father…longgg time ago.

  11. Yep. Talking to myself here.

There’s a reason I haven’t been too active online like I once was. The last seven months or so have been pretty demanding, and I’m not one to go around announcing every little thing. Not too sure I’m inspired to re-join.

    Thank you all very much.
    Out.
