Swalwell: ‘Most People Aren’t Telling Me They Want Socialism’

WFB:

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D., Calif.) said most people aren’t “telling me they want socialism” in an interview Wednesday on CNN.

CNN host Poppy Harlow recounted House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R., Calif.) reference to both the four congresswomen recently targeted by President Donald Trump and the entire Democratic Party as “this new Democrat socialist majority.”

“I wonder if you think it is catchy and if you think it is dangerous to your party’s chances in 2020,” Harlow said.

“No, it’s not,” Swalwell said. “I understand though why if you’re working really hard and you’re just living paycheck to paycheck, or you have student loan debt and you’re not able to buy a house, you may be asking for something other than the capitalist system that we have today. But most people aren’t telling me they want socialism. They’re saying they just want to see their hard work add up.” more here

  1. This is the disconnect these idiots have. He asks what if you’re someone living from paycheck to paycheck blah blah.
Then why would you want to raise his taxes then?

  2. TO gin blossom
EASY: they want to join the FREE SH!T ARMY and get special “victim privileges;” after all, that’s all the Left *has* to offer as BAIT (the taxes you mention are THE HOOK, only applied *after* they win).

  3. Why don’t they make better decisions or live with the ones they made? Why should I bail them out? No one bailed me out.
Wingnuts apparently do not realize taking from me and giving to them is socialism.

  4. So give him a list of the 10 planks of the Communist manifesto and ask him whether he and the Democrats oppose any of them, and if there are any to explain how and why they oppose them.

Not that anyone of enough significance to be noticed would actually do that.

  5. Let’s call a spade a spade. Can I still use that phrase after the BASTARD gay imam from the ex-white mosque left the building? This clown shoes from kahleefonyah is a complete moron so it really matters not what he has to say.

  6. Eric, buddy, you don’t talk to “most people”, but only to the lunatic fringe who assume you would be a good President. There is no evidence for that conclusion.
