Speaking to a group of lawyers on Friday, Pope Francis said that the Catholic Church is contemplating the introduction of “ecological sin” to the compendium of Church teaching.
“We have to introduce, we are thinking about it, in the catechism of the Catholic Church, the sin against ecology, the sin against our common home, because it’s a duty,” he said.
The pope’s words came just weeks after the conclusion of a bishops’ summit on the Amazon focused on the environmental threat to the region.
Francis was speaking to the 20th world congress of the International Association of Penal Law, held in Rome Nov. 13-16, under the scope of “Criminal Justice and Corporate Business.”
He also said that the culture of waste, combined with other widespread phenomena in welfare societies, is showing the “serious tendency to degenerate into a culture of hatred.”
“It is no coincidence that in these times, emblems and actions typical of Nazism reappear, which, with its persecutions against Jews, gypsies and people of homosexual orientation, represents the negative model par excellence of a culture of waste and hatred,” Francis said.
Maybe it’s time to hold elections for popes.

This pope appears more and more to be deceptive and leading Christians astray from the Word of the Bible and the teachings of Christ, apparently elevating himself to that position in place of them.
But only God can judge, all men can do is weigh proclaimed words and actions against the truth of the Bible to see if they are of God or not, and then take appropriate action in their own lives as a result.

This Pope will cause a schism in the church which may well see his ouster and a reformation within the Catholic Church. I’m Catholic myself and while I believe in the Trinity, Christ and a lot of the other teachings I don’t go to Mass regularly and do not believe that the Pope is God’s representative on earth and as such must be obeyed. The Cardinals had a choice between this one, a known leftist and guerilla supporter and a conservative Bishop out of Quebec, Canada and decided to take the church to the left. I think a lot of Catholics think as I do and this guy is going to spark a revolution in one of the last bulwarks against Islam expansion.
I thought that paying for sin credits were called indulgences in those times. And supposedly the more that you gave the better were your chances of getting into heaven which is hogwash but it certainly fooled a lot of people and made the Catholic Church very rich.
