Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Saturday that National Public Radio reporter Mary Louise Kelly lied to him and broke an off-the-record agreement.
“NPR reporter Mary Louise Kelly lied to me, twice,” Pompeo said in a statement. “First, last month, in setting up our interview and, then again yesterday, in agreeing to have our post-interview conversation off the record.”
Pompeo and his staff said Kelly agreed that an interview with the secretary would be about Iran but that she asked questions about Ukraine and United States Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch. More
Funding needs to be cut off from the NP’s. Majority of their reporting shows clear bias towards one particular party. Why are my taxes used to work against my political leanings. Let the DNC fund them.
Pompeo seems not to understand that the Left is a kind of living dead…vile, without honor, snarky, humorless, and living only to eat you by gaining power…I blame him for not understanding that when one is not in touch with reality( Democrats and Leftist ) it is easy to kill 100 million people to justify an illusion..
I’m afraid that some of the problem is the VP
hasn’t learned that the MSM and that includes
NPR, are enemies of the Republic and have every
intention of replacing our freedoms with a DC
based socialist dictatorship.
Wish Breibart didn’t have the whole article covered with an ad for Peter Schweiser’s book that no matter how many times I click ‘close’ it won’t go away.😡
Why someone like pompeo would agree to an npr interview is beyond me. What good did he think it would do? Non communist/democrat elected officials should decline all interview invites with just a few exceptions (eg. Lou dobbs yes chuck todd never).
Constantly playing “gotcha” isn’t journalism it’s field work for the DNC.
People see through you so spare us the phony outrage.
From what I’ve read the vast majority of Public Television funding comes from donations so any federal funding they receive could be cut off without doing any major damage to their programming.
In the case of NPR I gather their federal funding is 3 – 5 percent of their budget although that’s direct funding. An article in American Thinker puts that number closer 25% when you factor in the value of the tax deductions for contributions.
Since both Public Television and NPR are obvious left leaning and no attempt in balance is made the feds ought to cut all direct funding (let them run their fundraisers a few days longer) as well as capping the value of the tax deductions allowed on the contribution side.
Since both organizations keep saying that the feds only give them 3 to 5 percent of their budgets it’s time to call them on it. If Trump wins this year and the GOP takes back Congress and holds the Senate the President ought to make this one of the first priorities of his second term.
Funding aside, any Republic office holder ought to refuse any interview requests from NPR. Public Television would likely notice and might just make sure their reporters/hosts don’t make the same errors as NPR.
Helicopter presser or nothing from now on.
Trump ain’t kidding about “The Snake”, Pompeo. You just got bit. Learn from it and move forward.
Why does NPR exist at taxpayer expense?? Same with PBS?
When dealing with leftists, assume everything they say is a lie until proven otherwise, and don’t expose your back.
