  1. I realize that this is WAY too late, but………
DON’T open it, DON’T turn it on, dump it IMMEDIATELY, and especially DO NOT connect it to any other computer or network.
You don’t know who has had it (FedGov), where it’s been (FedGov), and what’s been done to it (tracking, spying (audio & visual), super malignant viruses, child porn entrapment)

  2. @CC ~ the file originates on the laptop & then sent to the thumb drive
it’s still on the laptop until written over … & even then it can be recovered

you have to ‘clean’ the laptop drive … the best way is w/ a drill press or band saw & a ball-peen hammer

  3. If it came back it’s tainted.
    Any fingerprints?
    On the laptop?
    On the car?
Cams outside the EOB just happen to be down for “maintenance” when the robbery occurred?
All the guards around the EOB just happen to be out of sight at the exact 10 minutes the car was broken into?

Yeah, get rid of it – like Woodman says.

Too many coincidences. Put that bitch in an industrial incinerator – nuclear grade.

    izlamo delenda est …
