My wife is a good Christian woman, but she loves her first cousin once removed (but never far enough) who is flamingly, unashamedly homosexual and is “married” to a Black man, his “husband” actually being the saner of the pair. I never have no truck with the dude because I had MY fill of crazy people back when they PAID me to deal with them, but because she knew him when he was little and cute, and also because she’s a better Christian than me and won’t give up on him, she keeps trying to save him, even though he doesn’t WANT to be or believes he NEEDS to be, saved.
Today’s subject was Islam.
She posted some truth about Islam on her FB page (something ELSE I have zero patience with), about how Muslims should be barred from elected offices because they CAN’T fulfill their oath (which is true), and the little faggot started going on about how he’s “disappointed” in her for saying so, and how “she’s better than that”. She gave him facts and truths about Islam and Shari’a, and asked him how he could support people who have killing HIM and his “HUSBAND” as a central tenant of their “faith”. He responded with liberal blathersgate about how Islam isn’t that bad and that’s just what Republicans say because they’re haterz, and no amount of Koran quotes or videos he refused to watch of Muslims hanging homosexuals en masse or throwing them off buildings would change his mind.
He’s indoctrinated to believe they are victims together, so he isn’t going to even LOOK at FACTS to the contrary, DESPITE THE FACT IT REQUIRES HE IGNORE THAT THEY WANT TO KILL HIM.
The imaginary danger of “homophobia” by Republicans is a more dire threat in his mind than people religiosly requred to ACTUALLY kill him. Liberal solidarity with “a minority group” is paramount to him, even though he knows NOTHING about the belief that MAKES them a minority. The world simply works the way HE belives it works, and anyone who says otherwise is a lying hater.

@Supernightshade — I understand your wife’s POV, but I was reminded today — again– that there are, indeed, those who utterly reject Jesus Christ as the Son of God. That’s a lot different than merely “not knowing” him.
Perhaps it would be helpful to remind her that her own wishful thinking is a rejection of the Truth (capital ‘T’) and she is essentially engaging in the same behavior as her cousin in this regard. It doesn’t prevent her from being obedient to God in other, important matters in her interactions with him, but she needs to also be careful to safeguard her relationship with God and be wary of exposing herself to the activities of the evil one. I’m sure you’ve already alerted her to this danger. At some point, the only “rescue” we should engage in is prayer and prayer alone.

@bill — In many things the Left cooks up, I think our crime is that we didn’t take them seriously. It’s often not a matter of stopping these things at the beginning, so much, I think, as failing to understand that any sane person would take something so ridiculous seriously in the first place. And the next thing you know, we’ve got 72 “genders”, (for example). It’s like living in a country-sized house full of teenagers, trying to keep your sanity by ignoring most of their goofy angst and illogical schemes. Conservatives just want to live their lives, be responsible, contributing members of society, and mind their own business; admirable qualities for any group of people. I resent that every time I turn my back in order to quietly tend to my life, there’s some sophomoric activist with too much time on their hands and not enough responsibility who continually makes it impossible for me to have and enjoy my vine and fig.
…you are right on all points, @AbigailAdams, and I do try to get her to not get upset at his continual rejections and indeed arrogance, but like I said, she knew him as a pup and is VERY stubborn on matters of family, sometimes to a fault.
Simply put, she WANTS him in Heaven, and it doesn’t fit HER world view that he tore up his own ticket.

…I really think the world would be a happier place without FB, I always tell her it’s one of the devil’s tools, and you can’t use his tools in his despite, and I’ve never seen anything to disprove that.
