Hong Kong Gives Each Resident $1,200 To Jump Start Economy

About 7 million people in Hong Kong will receive a cash handout of $10,000 Hong Kong dollars (roughly $1,280 in U.S. dollars) this year.

The big giveaway, which was unveiled in the country’s annual budget on Wednesday, will benefit permanent residents over the age of 18 in an effort to boost the territory’s damaged economy. More

  1. That’s what the US should have done instead of the TARP Fund. There are still a lot of banks that received money, then vanished. Everybody would have paid off their house, bought a new car/truck, retired early, and had on hell of a party.
