It is well with my soul – IOTW Report

It is well with my soul

Nashville studio singers put together this piece, remotely, and independently, during their social distancing.

This is nothing like that stupid self-indulgent, horrible Imagine, by the stupid and self-indulgent talentless group of egotists that think we should be entertained by their off-key and flat presence.

When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say
It is well, it is well, with my soul It is well
With my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul It is well (it is well)
With my soul (with my soul)
It is well, it is well with my soul My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, o my soul It is well (it is well)
With my soul (with my soul)
It is well, it is well with my soul It is well (it is well)
With my soul (with my soul)
It is well, it is well with my soul

  1. So much more talent in Nashville than Hollywood. Is it that hard to sing “imagine” in the proper key? These singers from Nashville far out shone those bunch of pretenders with an actual inspirational performance and song.

    Thanks for post, BFH.

  2. I needed that just like we all do. Maybe we all could make a list of all of our favorite spiritual and best Christian songs (no cheesy one please) that we could all share with one another to get us all thru these trying times. I have a lot of songs that I play for myself to keep my spirit up and focus on God in check that I would be willing to share. I am also trying to limit how much regular music on my satellite radio that I listen to so I don’t get depressed or bummed out right now. So goodbye oldies for awhile, now is not the time.

  3. My personal favorites along with this song have been
1)On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand
    2) How Great Thou Art
    3) Standing on the Promises
    4) Great is Thy Faithfulness
    5) Because He Lives
    6) In Christ Alone
    7) I’m no longer a Slave to Fear
Some time ago I ran across a family group and their YouTube channel Sounds Like Reign.
They sing some very uplifting songs.

  4. I love Nashville. It’s a gem, that for better or worse, is being discovered by a LOT of people. It has understated class, where you find a lot – good and bad, but the good far outweighs the bad. This video is just but one example.

  5. Pretty.

(Not my favorite rendition of this favorite, but there’s no comparison of it to that commie song, “Imagine.” I can’t shake the ashes and sack cloth of Wesley’s teachings vis the song should be more important than the singer. I’ve never enjoyed the ululations of modern gospel singing.)

  6. I’m 65 and have NEVER been able to sit through this song without being moved to tears. It is my all-time favorite hymn. I guess I just needed a good cry and reminder today. Thanks so much for posting this.
