President Trump on Friday night fired Michael Atkinson, the inspector general for the intelligence community who had deemed “urgent” a whistleblower’s complaint about the president’s actions on aid to Ukraine.

In a letter to the top Republican and Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, the president said “it is vital that I have the fullest confidence in the appointees serving as inspectors general.” More

    Independent of what?

    The government?

    Oversight by the Executive branch, which it is a part of? Then who are they accountable to, anyone?

    Who gave them this independence and why?

  2. The IG apparently changed the rules to allow second hand hearsay evidence be used for whistleblowing. And then apparently couldn’t properly justify why it was changed or even accurately state when the change was made??

    I think he deserved to be fired. The DNC can pick him up.

    Why 30 days? If you find a cancerous lump, you want it out NOW!
