I watched the whole hearing. Democrats grandstanding (Mazie & Kloubachar worst), RR grinning and waving his arms and very little was gained. I say waste of time.

Yes, there ARE some FBI personnel who were, or later became, “dirty”, as in any honorable endeavor.
Fortunately, I have never met a one while conducting IAQ/IH assessments, under clearance in the several FBI and SS buildings and campuses in the DC area and in Beltsville, MD.
ALL, whom I met and got to know were, in my opinion, of a higher, respected grade of a devoted American human being that one does not commonly encounter or know in everyday civilian life.
This includes the Secret Service, who’s unclassified stories of protection and what they are expected of, and subjected to, are almost unbelievable!

Yes, I watched part of the Bullshit Ballet but the choreography was so wooden I couldn’t take the whole thing.
It wasn’t a hearing as much as it was a posturing. What may have superficially seemed to be tough questions were designed in advance to give Rosenstein a mild case of heartburn and to completely avoid those issues where his knowledge and participation could answer questions that appear never will be asked.
@Chance posted a link to CTH and that article is a good one. What the Graham Ballet Company successfully avoided were digging in to get answers to:
— When RR extended the scope of the Mueller team’s targets, who and why were those targets selected, by whom, and upon what predicates was the expansion justified?
— What are the contents of the still hidden scope memo targeting Flynn’s son? This was buried in the Mueller report everybody seems to have a copy of but has left unread or at best read with very poor comprehension.
— If RR was so troubled by the felonious disclosure of the Page FISA application (he said he was troubled because it unfairly defamed an innocent target), then why wasn’t the Wolfe, the Senate staffer who leaked the document, charged with that crime and was let off with a puny process crime plea deal?
— Who wrote, and who was responsible for, the letter that the DOJ sent to FISA chief judge Collyer in which they attested to the accuracy of the information used in the FISA application over a year after they knew beyond any hint of a doubt that the source was utterly unreliable? The source was fraudulent, the DOJ knew it was fraudulent, and they lied in a material way to the court claiming it was trustworthy. What about THAT, Mr. Rosenstein?
If this hearing was in Nuremberg, Germany in 1946, Rosenstein would fit right in with the other defendants. He knew nothing. He was just following orders. He signed things, but he didn’t read what he was signing. He isn’t responsible for anything that happened after he signed things. His part in everything was a very small one in a huge operation. There were over 70,000 investigations in his department, and this was just one of those many investigations he had to review. Mein Gott! The work in Section IVB4 was simply overwhelming!
Don’t know if you have applied for a govement job in person in DC, surrounded by questions from permanent govement creeps, finding out how you will perform/obey…mainly because I would be working in their same office! Sorry I am not your slave.
