  1. We cut some 40′ tall Palm Trees down in Key West…Dude that owned the Place

was up there in His $1200 Loafers riding the thing like a Madman…My Bobcat at

the time had a #1500 Bucket limit…I tried to pick up the Heads…But They

were too heavy…I ended up doing a Nose wheelie and dragging Them into the

Dumpster backwards…The Coconuts fell and went right through a 2×6 Deck like

    Butter…

  2. We did this to six 50′ palm trees about seven years ago and this is exactly how the guys did it. Palms are messy, high maintenance, they’re hell on allergies when they bloom, and they harbor bark scorpions. I’d pay to have them all cut down again in a heartbeat!

  3. Done.LIKE.A.BOSS.

And done with one hand and a chain saw?? Just the torque alone holding that thing while HOLDING on!?? For DEAR life??

Notice he did two or three cuts even before it went.

    With ZERO insurance…

BTW, tree trimming is one of THEE most dangerous jobs you can have, as shown…

I have a nightmare that has me at the top of antennas, or high tension wire towers…but only happens once in a blue moon…and I don’t even fear heights!

  4. This dude is so fired.

    But….it’s probably the boss.

Anyway, next time I imagine he’ll set up some tie down ropes so the tree doesn’t try to catapult him into San Gabriel Valley.

However….this is the best story I’ve seen about meth in a while, so 2 thumbs up.

  5. Stupid, stupid, stupid….
I can’t count the number of safety warnings in the chainsaw instruction manual he completely ignored. But if he got hurt it would be the saw’s fault.
The instruction manual…..that little booklet at the top of the box that you had to move out of the way to get to the saw….that you threw directly in the trash without reading…

  6. The tree trimmer guy has a good idea what 19th century clipper ship sailors experienced when sent to the top of the mainsail mast to reduce sails during a storm at sea.

@Tony R – the first time I clicked the video it played about 1 second. Clicking on replay, the full 3:23 minute video played.

  7. You can tell that ain’t his first rodeo.

P.S. – I once called an arborist to look at a tree whose leaves were turning yellow and dying due to some sort of fungus. When he came out and inspected it I also happened to mention that the tree’s bark seemed to be sloughing off in large patches, but I didn’t think that was as big a problem as the leaves.

He replied, “No, actually it’s bark is worse than it’s blight.”

  8. I used to do some tree work, with pole gaffs no less, and a Jonsered 2071. One job I climbed the tree, maybe 35 feet, and roped my saw up. I cut the crown off (still about 20 feet of tree above me) but missed about 3 inches of the bark on the back strap. When the crown fell over it hitched on the back strap and pulled my positioning strap on my linesman belt below my knees. I was pulled into a tight circle where my face was almost on my belly-button. I had just enough strength to swipe the back strap with the heavy non-running Jonsered and cut the strap just enough that the crown fell away. Then I had to ride the bounce with my knees at my ears.
