Amazon recruited a Twitter army that was code-named ‘Veritas’ whose members were picked for their ‘sense of humor’ – and their task was to defend Jeff Bezos’ reputation online.
The army was recruited in 2018 but reared its head again this week as workers at an Amazon fulfillment center in Alabama voted on whether to form a union amid complaints about working conditions.
On Twitter, the army has defended worker conditions and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and has even gone after the company’s biggest critics like Bernie Sanders, the liberal senator from Vermont.
They were told specifically to confront people on Twitter in a ‘blunt’ manner, according to an internal document about their training that was obtained by The Intercept.

Amazon is working to completely automate all of their warehouses w/in the next then years. Rumor on the streets of Seattle is they don’t want to have to deal with “Union issues” past 2030.
I am curious why they are willing to put with “Seattle issues” on a global level and are so concerned abut this aspect of the collective?
This probably means something to those on Twitter, which would be all of the Left and Most of the right, but not me since I don’t use it, don’t care what is or isn’t posted on it, and have my internet settings set to prevent me from even accidentally clicking a link to it and using it by accident.
I imagine I might be the only one here that feels that way about using Twitter.
I deplore thin skinned Amazon. When they screw up, which is a lot, you’re not allowed to criticize them in any way.
