1 FarmWife (Kippa) my travel buddy. She almost instantly falls asleep in any vehicle
2 Old Guy (Verbena and Violet) like sleeping on the couch
3 Old Guy (Clyde) in my studio
4 Supernightshade (Coop sisters Boo and Prissy with Henny Penney) soaking up the rays on a glorious Easter morning 01
5 bluebird of bitterness (Oscar and Figaro)
6 Mary Hatch (Queen Nefertiti) She is a mane coon beauty. So spoiled, you wouldn’t believe. She jumped in the dryer and then fell asleep. She is a gorgeous cat but stand offish, if you know what I mean. LOL!
7 Peter the Bubblehead (Tuukka – American Eskimo-Pomeranian mix) Tuukka gets comfortable and sleeps in the oddest positions some nights
8 Marco (JamieBoy) So many books, so little time
9 beachmom (Kitty) Named Kitty because our grandson called every cat kitty when he was 2
10 Mansfield Lovell (Auggie) laying in a pile of dirty laundry

  1. Ha, Sammy falls asleep when we’re driving. Ask him if he wants to go for a ride in the truck and he spins and barks. Then he falls asleep on his rug.

    Great stuff y’all! Thanks Claudia!

  3. Good morning Claudia, thank you for posting my girls in all their glory. Not everyone appreciates them, especially not the friend that I invited over to see them when they were just hatched, although in hindsight, maybe, “Hey, wanna come over and meet some young chicks?” wasn’t the best way I could have phrased that.

Oh well, that’s why I write instead of talk.

Anyway, this is their first time outside their new coop in the new, more country property we moved to recently. That’s why you see the green netting around them, the run was still under construction. They grew up in a smaller coop with a bar with a large back porch behind the house that had karioke, food trucks, and live bands, so this was WAY less noise than they were used to, and this was probably the most relaxed I ever saw them, just vegging together in the sunshine like they were dead. The first time I saw one do this I was concerened, but when I went over to her she squaked at me and looked at me like I was stupid, and her sisters ran me off, so I learned.

The pale one, Boo, is an Americana and is besties with one of the speckled Plymouth Rock hens, Henny Penny, and they always seems to be together and frequetly snuggle up to each other. Not sure how this shakes out in the pecking order becuase Henny Penny is the biggest bully in the coop and Boo is the runt of the litter, but they seem to like each other nonetheless. Just so you know what a boss she wants to be, while I was constructing the run on one end, Penny kept going over the green temporary fence on the other end, but she didn’t run around the yard, oh no…SHE had to come over and see what I was doing and peck at me like she was supervising, and no matter how many times I tossed her back into the netting, she’d hop right out and tell me what to do again!

She was also the one that killed our idea of free ranging them in our fenceless yard when a rooster crowed some distance away, and she went busting for the road and made my wife go running after her so the 40 MPH farm traffic wouldn’t kill her, and the wife worried for days about what the neighbors would think about her introduction being her pelting down the driveway after wayward poultry.

I don’t know what she was worried about, it was a MUCH better introduction than I got in our LAST house when I was cuffed in front of the whole neighborhood as a jewel thief after a cop drew down on me for having a screwdriver I had gotten from my car for the purposes of paint can opening, but that’s a different story for another day that I’ve already told anyway…

…yep, too long, I know, but since this is the current status of what is EASILY the MOST expensive eggs I’ve EVER purchased in my life, I’m gonna get SOME milage out of it, because I’ll NEVER get a Chicken Nugget this way since the wife treats them more like pets than poultry, so talking about them is about all that’s in it for me…

…I do like all the other sleepers today, too. I grew up with cats although my wife’s allergic so we can’t have any, but they are wonderful animals that just ALLOW you to take care of them, but the naps just establish who the boss REALLY is. As for the dogs, that’s just who they are, but I think Auggie’s just playing you Mansfield, I believe I see a very alert eye peeking from those clothes there…

…Happy Sunday, everyone, and God Bless,
    SNS

  4. Oh, NO!!!!!!

I missed one! So sorry. I’m waiting for church to start, so as soon as it’s over, I’ll rush home and fix it.

I’m going to have to pay a fine of 10,000 iOTWr bucks for that boo-boo.

Drats, there goes my retirement fund🥴

  5. @Mary Hatch, we also had a Maine Coon cat. We adopted her from local shelter which labeled her an American Tiger but we quickly discovered she was a Maine Coon cat. Lady Godiva (Diva for short) ruled the roost over our two dogs within 30 seconds of arrival! One was so nervous of Diva that she would leave the room when Diva walked in. We had her for about 16 years.

Something about my wife’s cell phone it takes pics of Auggie and it looks like Auggie is a Borg Dog, assimilated by frickin’LASER Beams. Weird.
