  • Former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin has been convicted on all charges in the death of George Floyd.
  • Chauvin faces up to 40 years in prison for second-degree murder, up to 25 years for third-degree murder and up to 10 years for second-degree manslaughter.
  • Floyd died in May 2020 after Chauvin placed his knee on Floyd’s neck while he pleaded, “I can’t breathe.”

    They don’t need to quit, just start stopping for lunch or a snack or something along the way when responding to any incident where a Black is involved so they don’t have to find him still there when they arrive.

    That should make everybody happy, especially the Black victims of Black criminals that should have known better than call the police in the first place.

  46. This verdict only empowers these animals. Like when a sports team wins a championship, cities often burn. I expect that tonight.

    This verdict only hurts the very high-crime, poor, minority communities who need law enforcement the most. Cops are now less likely to engage a criminal, and this is not always a positive thing.

  60. I’m no lawyer, but I thought you could only be convicted once for any given crime. What that leads me to believe is that they would have to pick just one of the charges on which to convict. It is one act, so can it possibly be three separate crimes? Something stinks in Denmark!

    When a huge, very strong, drugged-out man refuses to be arrested, and four police officers cannot get him the car, then the police are now expected to release him.

    It was an accident, not a murder. Now we’ll get an open season on cops, considered by many stupid people to be the enemy. There were at the very least extenuating circumstances that the jury did not consider important.

    The man was resisting arrest. He did not follow the orders of the police. He had just committed a crime. HE WAS NOT A MURDER VICTIM!

  72. I watched multiple livestreams of the protesters/riots all last summer and again this year for the past several weeks. I’ve had it on most of the day; since the verdict, these people seem angrier than ever.

    There was an initial “exhale, let’s celebrate” type of mood, but that appears over already as they’ve ramped-up the vile and violent rhetoric and seem like they’re ready to rumble.

  81. You know, Patrock D made me think. I couldn’t understand how one person with one victim could be convicted of three different levels of homicide.

    Maybe the jury thought that too, but this way they covered their rear ends while laying obvious groundwork to get it all thrown out on appeal, not that there is a shortage of reasons to overturn this conviction.

    Don’t feel bad for the rioters denied their choice of free stuff from looted stores. Tomorrow they’ll all be marching on Brooklyn Center to demand that former officer spend her life in prison…or else.

  94. If I were a cop, I couldn’t help but think that if a black man dies while in my custody and I get convicted of manslaughter and murder even though it was an accident, I may as well just go ahead and murder any truly bad guys I have to arrest in future.

    I’d like to think I’d never ACT on that thought, but I sure as hell would THINK it.

  99. What still makes no sense is how is this a win for the “black community?” What action, exactly, that was performed by Chauvin that was racist to Floyd or any other black?

    Was Chauvin found guilty of being a racist? Was the system proven to be systemically racist?

    NOTHING about this case involves race at all. The only ones making it about race are the lefties and the “black community.”

    So what is their prize? NOTHING. That’s why the riots will continue.

  103. Every few days I would watch court tv to see about juror selections thus far, not surprising at all, at least half had no business being on the jury, a quarter it should have been clear they were saying what they thought the defense wanted to hear to get on the jury.
    Then every few days I would listen to what went on that day, the judge was a POS, who would push for jurors with his questions, he screwed the defense from the start of jury selection all the way up to Maxine Waters’ stunt. He should have allowed the trial to be moved and at least 3 times he should have ruled a mistrial due to shit the prosecution pulled.
    The cop did not get a fair trial and if there is a panel of honest judges in Minnesota the verdict will be overturned.

    Oh and the savages are still savaging and now wanting to go back and go after other cops and even Zimmerman.

    The honest truth is this country has lost all 3 branches of government.

  105. A white cop in Columbus Ohio shot a violent 15 year old with a knife tonight. This happened in an area that I hung out in when I was a teen. It’s far enough away from my parents but way to close to home as I recognize street names and landmarks mentioned in news stories. So, my hometown is blowing up right now.

    And-AntiFa is planning a big riot tonight to retake CHOP. Seattle will be in the news later tonight.

  106. What happened was not justice. It’s a dagger thrust at the heart of America. It has ruined the state of Minnesota and Minneapolis-St. Paul maybe forever, and it certainly destroyed an innocent man.

    The evil prosecutors and chicken-gutted jurors probably do not yet realize what they have wrought. They took and accident, called it a murder, and in the process have destroyed justice. They have established a precedence of cops being guilty no matter what they do. It will be open season on police from now on. Police Forces will dwindle in size till nobody will rely on them any longer. Then we’ll have real anarchy in the streets.

    Any white liberal who perchance finds himself surrounded by a mob of inner-city gangsters will not save himself by claiming he supported Floyd and marched against the Minneapolis Police. I predict some white people will be literally lynched.

    I think Chauvin should have testified on his own behalf. At least he could have told the world he didn’t mean to kill Floyd. The result couldn’t have been any worse than what it was. He could have told his side of the story. Maybe a jurist would have reconsidered. All it would have taken is one.
