…not sure why knife size matters. You can kill with a 1 inch cut. It’s a bit easier with a foot-long pig sticker, true, but it also telegraphs your blows if you’re not really trained for it, and it’s easier to take you down if you miss because your recovery time from wild swings is longer, and if it’s not double edged (and most commonly available long knives aren’t), the flailer like this is as likely to hit you with the flat as they are the blade.
Even if you hit with a long knife, without a blood groove it may not come out easily, especially if it’s stuck in cartilage or bone, and if it’s not an immediately lethal attack you’ll lose your weapon and be open for a counterattack from an angry person in pain.
Notice too that this gal had total tunnel vision. She was so fixated on her target she missed MULTIPLE threats AROUND her target, and paid for it. Whatever else she was and however angry she was, what she wasn’t was a trained fighter, certainly not with a knife.
Of course Pinky wasn’t either, but she sure could RUN! Even if the cops weren’t there, provided the first wild swing missed (and it looked like it did) she probably broke and ran fast enough that Tubby wouldn’t have been able to press the attack anyway.
…but none of this matters. Black shot by White cop is all most will hear. Max will incite and paid protesters will respond to media propaganda. Riot at 11, check local listing.
Cop will be convicted of whatever, doesn’t matter, and rule of law will be shredded yet again.
So the only thing that knife REALLY got was the Constitution.

…up the street from my old house in SW OH, a guy got shot to death in a basement full of people.
The perp escaped an a slow walk.
Not one person in that basement saw anything.
Murderer want free.
…probably because of an earlier incident in the same area, where a guy got whacked on the street and a witness came forwards. Perp went to jail, made bail, witness got beat, couldn’t identify his attacker and recanted his statement.
Murderer went free.

An individual who has dedicated their life to protecting others, regardless of race, especially those who are vulnerable, form thugs regardless of race put their life on the line yesterday morning when they went on duty and as a last resort used their duty weapon to stop a threat by a thug on an induvial who was incapable of protecting themselves from an ongoing attack on a person whose life was in imminent danger.
All this bullshit is easily remedied.
When the dispatcher receives a call all they have to ask is the assailant white or black. If the answer is black – dispatch only black officers. No more bullshit.
