Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) announced Sunday he will vote against the For the People Act to federalize local elections.
“I believe that partisan voting legislation will destroy the already weakening binds of our democracy, and for that reason, I will vote against the For the People Act. Furthermore, I will not vote to weaken or eliminate the filibuster,” he wrote in Charleston Gazette-Mail. More
He finally does something that doesn’t piss me off! I just knew he’d screw up sooner or later.

I love how every godforsaken bill they write has some Orwellian Newspeak name which means the exact opposite of the bill’s purpose.

Manchen has been on the right side of many issues lately; packing SCOTUS, the filibuster, statehood for PR, voter ID, and DC getting 2 senators. He also seems to understand that money does not grow on trees and is leaning towards the GOP figure in the Infrastructure Bill discussions. Of course, stating a position publicly and voting that way is two different things.
I occasionally look at at leftest sites, good to know what they enemy is up to, and there is no one on earth more vilified there than Joe Manchin. He is the McCain of the leftists. Kyrsten Sinema is right behind him in tweaking leftist’s sensibilities.
I hope he means it. Too often politicians announce something like this just to start the bidding war on buying them to change their vote. New house, new Mercedes, insider stock info, ivy league college acceptance for their kids, etc, etc.

He is a Senator so Speaker of the House should have no influence over him.
The very name of the ACT is a deliberate kick to the balls for crying out loud.
Democrats are traitors. They have never been on the side of “We The People”. They’re mentality is too use and abuse to no end. They want to rebrand everything in their own image which is false.

Pelosi and the House write the tax laws, the Senate only advises and consents. All tax laws go through the House Tax Committee, and that’s where the pork is divvied up and the individual lines are added or erased which enrich the connected – Pelosi owns it.
