I would like to tell a tale of wonderful people that still exist.
Our daughterβs boyfriendβs family is going through a very difficult time. Mom has decided to move on with her life, and the father, who is a step to two of the four kids, that range in age from I believe 7 to 18, has a degenerative disease that makes it hard to find employment.
Dad is stepping up to take care of them all, but needed some help. My wife and I did what we could, but she also put a post on social media asking if anyone had any used clothes or shoes that their kids had grown out of that they would be willing to donate.
The response has been astounding and humbling.
We have received and delivered a full pickup load of bags of clothes, new and used, including new coats for all the kids. Which are essential where we live. We have received gift cards for groceries, gas and just regular cards for dad to spend as he needs. And people are still asking what they can do, or what the family needs.
None of these people know us and none of them know this family, but in less than two weeks, I would guess that we have received and delivered 2 to 3 thousand dollars of support for this family from a single post. And I donβt have any idea where she posted it.
It has all been local people that just wanted to help out.
It is sometimes hard to remember, but out here in flyover country at least, there still are people that are good inside and are willing to help their fellow man.
We thank them all for what they have done for this family. May God bless them for what they have done.
And we wish all a very happy Thanksgiving.

There is hope still. π
Great stuff!
Flyover country is where I am from.
About 35 years ago, a local boy was riding home from a baseball game on his bike. Through a confluence of unfortunate events (sun going down, etc.) the boy was hit by a car and killed. In a town of 4,000, two thousand turned out for the funeral. People stood in line for four hours to extend their condolences to the family. That little place in Iowa was 97 percent Dutch, and seven generations had been there. That meant that half the people in the town were related, by blood or marriage, to the other half. We had and have our issues there, but the people are the best. No one has ever gone hungry in that town.
A good news story for Thanksgiving!
Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
This is why Jesus came to earth as a servant. “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
It’s a wonderful privilege to be able to help others in their need. It’s sad when people are surprised by the generosity of strangers.
That is the strength of the human spirit.
There a many good people in this country. Bad ones get all the press.
Praise God and thank you!
