LA’s Finest Fired For Playing Pokémon Go! Instead of Stopping a Robber

Fox News

California appellate court has ruled that two Los Angeles police officers were properly fired for playing Pokémon Go instead of responding to a robbery.

The court ruled on Friday that the LAPD was justified in firing Louis Lozano and Eric Mitchell for misconduct in 2017, the Sacramento Bee reported Monday.

On April 15, 2017, a video system in their patrol car captured the officers discussing how to catch a Snorlax and trying to capture the rare Togetic in the game while ignoring a report of several people who were in the process of robbing a Macy’s in the Crenshaw area, according to the ruling. More

  1. …that’s because, in Pokemon Go, the Democrats don’t go to your gym, free all the Pokemon you captured that otherwise were menacing people walking around the world, then call you a racist and try to have YOU arrested instead…

Their conduct was no more “unprofessional or embarrassing,” nor a “violation of public trust,” than the conduct of the LA county prosecutor refusing to prosecute crimes”

  3. Why interrupt a pokeoan game when they’re not gonna charge the guy??

Hope he caught a Tyranitar, Dragonite, or Charizard; they are the rare ones

  4. Breaking news from four years ago. Took them long enough, but justice was served.

I had Pokemon zombies trespassing and roaming all over my property for weeks back then. So glad that fad passed and the young fools had short attention spans.

  5. I thought Pokemon was a kid thing, actual adults are into this?

I know I bag on teachers’ unions regularly here but police unions are just as bad. I’ve seen cops pressure women for sex (and vice versa), roll illegals for the cash in their wallets, steal from the evidence room, sell drugs out of their squad cars, and actually make up probable cause the doctor arrest reports, and after getting caught many of them still kept their jobs.

But this caught my attention,” but on the patrol car recordings”, how is it that casual conversation within the confines of the patrol car can be recorded?

As for dereliction of duty in not responding to calls, in this day and age every cop in the country who does a risk assessment of getting involved in anything has probably done the same thing.

    Unfortunately, yes.

Actually, the game makes it impossible to succeed without adult involvement, player or parent-of-player – whatever.

Someone has to drive to the weird places to collect them.

My opinion is pretty low for the adults that succumb to this type of thing. Says a lot about them.

    Sheep. Mainly.

  7. So what do you get if you “capture” one of these pokemon characters? A trip to Hawaii, a new Xbox, Superbowl tickets, anything of value? Or just nerd points that you can brag about to your other nerd friends who are all incels themselves?
